Grecian Park Hotel – Amelia & Gary
Amelia, 27, an Early Help Support Practitioner & Gary, 28 and a Police Officer, were married at Grecian Park Hotel in Protaras on 30th May 2019, and chose Lee Stuart Photography to capture their everlasting memories, read their journey to their special day below:
The run up, in the early days, how did you meet and how long have you been a couple:
6 years ago Gary was transferred to the coffee shop where I worked, to replace my manager. We hit it off straight away and had a good friendship, sharing embarrassing stories, playing pranks, and socialising on weekends with colleagues. One weekend we arranged to go out for a few drinks “as friends” We met at the famous Wetherspoons at lunch time and laughed endlessly over our burger and chips. We then went to another bar and sat in a beach hut outside in the glorious sunshine supping pints of lager! The time ran away with us and before we knew it it was dark. We played some beer pong until we finally admitted defeat in the early hours. During that night the boundaries were tested and the rest is history!
Who proposed to who and where, was it a surprise?
We went on holiday to Malaysia and Gary had secretly organised a private boat trip on the island of Langkawi. The captain asked if we were celebrating our anniversary (nearly giving the game away!) Luckily, I was totally unaware of what he had planned. Gary got down on one knee, struggling to get back up! I obviously said yes and we drank champagne whilst watching the sunset.
Describe your dress:
A mermaid style with a flowing soft tulle skirt cascading out from a curve-hugging bodice. It had a v-neckline with thin spaghetti straps with sparkling stones, all-over beaded and Chantilly lace. It had a captivating low back, I absolutely loved it!
What did the groom wear?
Camel coloured slim fit wool mix trousers with matching waistcoat, finished off with a Gypsophila button hole. I think it’s safe to say he was a little bit sweaty!
The Wedding Venue, how and why did you choose it?
Gary and I had often discussed marrying abroad for the good weather and longer celebration. My mum was helping us find a suitable venue in Cyprus when she stumbled across the Grecian Park Hotel online. As a child I holidayed in Cyprus quite frequently and have very fond memories. The locals are so friendly and welcoming and the scenery is absolutely stunning. Gary and I visited Protaras and instantly fell in love with the area. The beaches are so dreamy and the food is scrumptious! We visited the Grecian Park and was blown away by it’s natural beauty. The scenery that surrounds it was just breathtaking. We had found the most perfect venue.
Describe your cake:
Cake!! I lurrrve the cake! The cake was the best cake we have ever tasted!! (Some of our guests agreed!) It was a three tier plain white iced cake. We had red velvet, chocolate, and lemon! We managed to have a little bit of each and it was just orgasmic!
What was your first dance?
Andy Williams – Can’t take my eyes off you. We wanted to choose a song that would get everyone on the dance floor! It definitely did the trick!
Overall what was the best part of the day and why? Did anything not go according to plan on the day?
We can’t pinpoint any specific part of the day! The whole day was perfect! During our meal we both sat back and just observed everyone having a great time. We felt so blessed and fortunate to have such fabulous family and friends.
Lee Stuart Photography had the pleasure of shooting Amelia & Gary’s Engagement back in 2018 and were honored to be chosen again to shoot their Wedding Day, what an absolutely amazing couple, so full of fun, life, energy & the love between them is clear for all to see, we have made life long friends and can’t wait to see them here in Cyprus again!
Congratulations once again to you both, we wish you all the very best for the future.
